He made you. In these deeply moving verses, 2:4-9, we first are told why God has chosen to make available to us what we absolutely have not earned, and we do not deserve.

We’ve seen over the past two weeks that the Apostle Paul wrote about the two kinds of believers in the Church of Ephesus, i.e., Jewish believers and Gentile believers. People’s dependency upon Social Media for their interactions and their sense of worth. But, God loves us and is ready to do for us what we don’t deserve and cannot earn. Birds and squirrels even sit in the trees as if to watch what is happening around them.

Even when stormy days come, filled with gray skies and torrents of rainfall, and winds sway the trees like they are dancing, it is a sight to see the wonders of God's artistic hand. Next time you look in the mirror, see what God sees and cherish your time on this earth.

Maybe you find this hard to believe, but Paul wrote, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). A masterpiece is the most famous, the most noteworthy. That’s the word. A. C. T. Language. Those transgressions and sins separate us from God. There are many, many people who show up for and sit in the churches each and every week, who we look upon as fellow Christians and go on with our services and on with our private lives, and never know about the hurts and scars and lies that exist within them. He loves us so much he chose not to live without us at the beginning of creation nor when He went to the cross! Do you know what the top 10 means of death are in the US right now?

But, here in Eph 2, he boiled our human condition down into three verses. moral desires, i.e., you begin to long to know how God would want you to live. For we are God’s masterpiece. We show love to our neighbor. (Holy Spirit).

We live lives of good works in the world without engaging in the sin of the world.

God has a plan for your life.

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you (Jn 13:12-15).”.

So, He made man in the image and likeness of Himself. The reason that I am bringing this up, again, about the word “koinonia” and the issue of being UNITED, has to do with a few things that I came across and witnessed over the past week or so.

Because of that, God is ready to do in your life what you cannot do on your own. If you are ever feeling down about your life, just remember that the God that created the universe, made you to be his workmanship. This is an important week to engage in the good works you were created to do. With these words, God describes himself to be a creative artist making a masterpiece specifically to do good works in this world and that masterpiece is… well, it’s us! Who are you?

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. So, how is koinonia any different than any other fellowship? But it rightly conveys something about the nature of our new creation in Christ. When the Lord created the heavens and the earth, He rested and said all that He made was good. 4 that God gives each one of us gifts for the building up of the entire family. These accusations make us feel inadequate to share our faith or even to serve others.

What do we need to do to come alive to God and to be set free?

So, you see, you can only have koinonia fellowship, when the people are joined as identical through the abiding presence of Holy Spirit. So, anytime we come together, with friendly association and liked interests, we have fellowship, right? Are those true of you? Do any of you believe that it is coincidence or just lack of anything else to talk about that something like this keeps coming up in my sermons and teachings and other people’s conversations? We need each other to complete the picture! When we begin to allow Him to speak over us and reject the lies of the enemy, then KOINONIA will run rampant throughout the church as it did in the beginning! You already began your time sharing specific skills or abilities you have, but feel free to share additional ones.

We need only to respond to what God has done by faith.

Without His true presence, you can still be identical and like minded and have fellowship: you can still all remain, identical as non-regenerate sinful flesh and have the same like mind towards the flesh, but you will not have “koinonia” fellowship from Holy Spirit! And, one of the main ways this unifying happens is when we serve one another as well as serve alongside one another in our world.

When we begin to allow Him to speak over us and reject the lies of the enemy, then KOINONIA will run rampant throughout the church as it did in the beginning! This would include the heart, liver, intestines, etc. These 10 verses contain a flow of thought that make the point that this “unexpected family of God”, as we’ve been calling the church, has been created by God for a reason, i.e., to make God known by engaging together in good works. I see the tiny newborn baby who looks for someone to hold it and take care of it. All the while, what we know to be Christian fellowship, is not the koinonia that we read of In Acts, where they were all identical and looking out for the good of the others and because of this, the Lord was adding to them daily! 6 adults began meeting in May of 2011 for the purpose of glorifying God by making disciples. If you have not found a place to regularly serve in your life, here are four suggestions: (1) reach out to different LAC staff members for discernment about where to contribute at LAC or in the community, (2) check out the ‘serving opportunities’ section in the weekly Lake Ave News publication, (3) visit the Pathways Center on the west end of the Worship Center Lobby after any worship service to discuss how to get involved, and (4) visit www.lakeave.org/volunteer. Our Scripture passage today culminates with one of the most moving declarations to churches and individual Christians to be found in the entire Bible, i.e., We are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works… (2:10)!

He loves you. The outcome was amazing!

The purpose of salvation is that we will do the kinds of good works Jesus did, works that make known what God is like!

A masterpiece tells us there is an amazing Creator!

God does so because he wants to place something beautiful into his fallen and hurting creation that will make known his love, mercy and grace.

We show love to our neighbor. God does not make junk and each of us is so valuable to God. Becoming Who We Are: God’s Creative Masterpiece.

Engage Your Life: Serving. (A masterpiece), The Lord lives inside of you!

It says this. Compare what you learned about “works” in verse 8 and 9 to what you learned about “works” in verse 10. They will know God is re-creating us into his masterpiece. Verses 1-3 outline how all of us are “dead.”  However, the word “But” found in vs. 4 changes everything. Have you ever sat and really looked at God's handiwork? I have spoken with several people who have recently attended the Heart Quest venture and listened to some of their testimonies (or at least what they were allowed to share about the trip) and also having spoken with some people locally, from the church, over this past week and I was really drawn to something. Or have you ever watched the heavens at dawn when it looks like a blazing orange canvas?

God the Father doesn’t base our worth on performance, achievements, friends, possessions, or appearance.

You may be one!

The apostle Paul wrote to the believers in Ephesus: “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them” (Eph 2:10).

So, we’re dead to God because of our sin and we have no power with our own imperfect physical, mental or emotional strength to change things.

God made it possible for you to know. It is in the past, learn from it. The word “together” here is the same in verse 6, “to come together”.
